Once you start making the effort to “wake yourself up” – that is, be more mindful of your daily activities – you suddenly start appreciating your life more.           Robert Biswas-Diener

I see therapy as a “waking up” of oneself.  It’s a journey of becoming more aware of the struggles you are facing, their underlying causes, and ultimately of changing the behaviors and thought patterns that are keeping you from being the person you want to be.

Therapy can provide the necessary first step in untangling your experiences, dismantling negative thought patterns, and understanding yourself with new meaning. It can help you gain new skills to cope with stress, anxiety, and depression. It can help you feel more connected to our partner. Whatever journey you are on, I hope we can work together to bring you a more peaceful and joyful life.

    About Melissa Grasso, LCSW, LLC

Above all treatment modalities, the biggest predictor of success in therapy is a positive relationship between the client and the therapist.  As a therapist, I work to create a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic environment in which my clients can heal and grow.

During our time in therapy together, we will develop the strategies you need to get back on the path that leads to happiness and success. Together, we will work to address the issues you are facing so that you can confidently take a new direction in life.
